Round 3 Restoring your Railways Fund

The reinstatement of the Beverley to York rail line has taken a small step closer. The Minsters Rail Campaign and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council have now submitted a joint bid for a Strategic Outline Business Case to the new round of the Department for Transport's Restoring your Railway Ideas Fund. The bid is sponsored by the MPs at each end of the line: Graham Stuart (Beverley and Holderness) and Julian Sturdy (York Outer), and we have support from many other MPs in the area. Also supporting the bid are local authorities including Hull and York, and educational institutions including the University of Hull. In preparing the bid our team consulted with transport and rail experts at the major infrastructure firm AECOM, and we're very grateful for their help. And many thanks to all the bid's sponsors and supporters. It will probably be a few months before we know the outcome, but we'll keep you posted.
